Before I get going with this one, you should read this MSN news page. It's a pretty interesting read about something I happen to have a particular view on.

So just to recap, there are websites out there that give tips on committing suicide and/or create a community for suicidal individuals to converse together. Some people think these sites should be shut down while others feel they should be protected by the first ammendment. I just say leave them alone until they start coming to your house forcing you to commit suicide.

At one point, the article quotes a man saying, "The danger of these sites is they convince you life can be a balance sheet where you should add up the pluses and minuses, and then act from there." For some odd reason he believes life is something other than a balance sheet. Obviously he is mistaken.

Wasn't that the title of this article? Right, so life IS a balance sheet! Life is also pointless, but I'll leave that for another article.

I know others (like Tighe) will sorely disagree with me, but life is constantly being scored on our unconscious score boards. I know if I were to add up all my points, it wouldn't be much above suicidal. And what if I were out of a job?

And that's where suicide comes in. With the economy the way it is today, what is one expected to do without money and a job? You'd have no choice! Might as well do yourself in and lower the unemployment numbers...
